Pop rock superstar Pink has published her ninth solo studio album, entitled “Trustfall”. The three-time Grammy Award winner has sold over 60 million LPs and 75 million singles worldwide since her first song was released in early 2000. Pink’s new album opens with “When I Get There”, written in honor of her late father, followed by title track “Trustfall”. However, the album begins rather weak and skipping the first four songs will get you straight to the better part. “Kids In Love” featuring First Aid Kit and the lead single “Never Gonna Not Dance Again” steer the record in the right direction, yet you’ll have to wait for the last two tracks, “Our Song” and “Just Say I’m Sorry” featuring Chris Stapleton, to get to the highlights of this 13-track album. Pink will embark on world tour in June 2023, with a second leg of the tour scheduled to start in February 2024. Sisters Klara and Johanna deliver the new LP at the end of a year that started with the tenth anniversary concert of their stellar sophomore album “The Lion’s Roar” and the introduction of a new band which includes their brothers Gabriel and Johannes. “Palomino” opens with the uptempo song “Out Of My Head” followed by the album’s heart-unburdening lead single, called “Angel”. The absolute highlight of this record is the song “Nobody Knows”, a masterpiece of brilliant vocal harmonies and beautiful instrumentation.

Soul singer-songwriter Beth has released her sophomore album, “Get To Know Me”. Born and raised in Detroit, the daughter of The Funk Brothers pianist Johnny Griffith has been touring the world as a background singer for Anita Baker and Kem before she launched her solo career. In 2017, Beth released her debut album, “Free”, and two years later she became a contestant in season 16 of America’s popular singing competition The Voice. Her new album is a testament to her vocal skills and love for 90s R&B music. With songs like “Let Me Be” and “Over U”, Beth and producer Marcus Devine bring back the vibe of the R&B heydays. The banging lead single “Got Next” features former D12 member Swifty McVay with a smashing rap verse. “Get To Know Me” is a confident and empowering record for the true R&B fan.

“Funhouse Mirror”, the fifth full-length album by Danish rock band Vinyl Floor, is available now. Vinyl Floor, formed in 2007 by two brothers from Copenhagen, deliver melodic rock inspired primarily by British bands of the 60s and 70s. The Pedersen brothers, who share lead vocal duties, also played most instruments on the record, with additional contributions by Rasmus Bruun (guitar, bass), Bebe Risenfors (trumpet, saxophone, flute, and more), Rob Stoner (bass), and Christian Ellegaard (violin, viola, cello). “Funhouse Mirror” comes with a warm vintage sound created together with Swedish producer Emil Isaksson. Most of the lyrics, written during the lockdown when the pandemic was limiting live shows and touring opportunities, touch on themes surrounding the state of our world today. Listen to songs like “Clock With No Hands”, “Dear Apollon”, or title track “Funhouse Mirror” and enjoy the beautifully crafted sounds of Vinyl Floor.

Bermudian singer-songwriter Heather Nova has released her eleventh studio album, entitled “Other Shores”. A 13-track covers album featuring intimate renditions of well-known tunes. The 55-year-old musician delivers this collection of songs with sparse production, just her soothing vocals over stripped-back instrumentation. “Other Shores” is a record of perfectly refreshing simplicity. Nova opens the album with Foreigner’s 1981 synth-pop hit “Waiting For A Girl Like You” followed by the Bee Gees’ 1977 disco banger “Stayin’ Alive”, making both songs her own in beautiful acoustic versions. It’s amazing how she flips Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up” from party track to acoustic ballad with nothing more than cello and guitar to accompany her vocals. Neil Young’s “Like A Hurricane” and Michael Kiwanuka’s “Cold Little Heart” also get the acoustic treatment from Heather Nova. She will be on European tour in October and November.
