Shaed – High Dive

Pop band Shaed has released their debut studio album, entitled “High Dive”. The trio from Washington, D.C., is comprised of twin brothers Max and Spencer Ernst and Spencer’s wife, lead singer Chelsea Lee. The group landed a massive hit with their 2018 single “Trampoline”, a dreamy electropop track which is included on the album in the duet version with British superstar Zayn. “High Dive” was produced by Shaed along with Ariel Rechtshaid and Josh Fountain. The songs come with sharp, dramatic hooks. Chelsea Lee’s hoarse voice is the main highlight of the album, especially on the single “Once Upon A Time”. But despite her strong vocals, the songs Shaed serve don’t always taste spicy. The opening track, for instance, has a dragging beat and overly repetitive chorus, and is not the best choice to open a record. Some of the other tracks also fail to hold the listener’s attention with their mediocre melodies. The album title refers to a sport associated with adventure and thrills, but “High Dive” does not sufficiently evoke these feelings. For more info, including tour dates, go to shaedband.com
