The Naked And Famous – Recover

New Zealand electropop band The Naked And Famous has published their fourth studio album, titled “Recover”. The new project comes a decade after the group released their debut LP “Passive Me, Aggressive You” which earned them several New Zealand Music Awards including Album of the Year. Since then, they have performed at music festivals like Coachella and Wanderland. Now a striving female-male duo comprised of founding members Alisa Xayalith and Thom Powers, The Naked And Famous make a personal statement of creative healing and resilience on “Recover”. The title track opens as a melodic tribute to parents lost with an artsy sound production, a signal to the arrangement of the record’s other 14 songs. There’s an inviting mix of Xayalith’s soothing vocals on songs like the prideful ballad “Come As You Are” and Powers’ wistful echos to be enjoyed on tracks like “Death”.
