Chloe x Halle – Ungodly Hour
Sisters duo Chloe x Halle has released their sophomore album, “Ungodly Hour”. The Beyonce proteges became popular after their covers of pop songs caught the attention of many including Bey herself who signed them to her Parkwood Entertainment. Chloe x Halle’s debut album, “The Kids Are Alright” was nominated for two Grammy Awards including Best New Artist. While their first project centered on their vulnerability and self-discovery, their latest collection is an affirmation of the things that bind them together as sisters, empower them as young black women, and distinguish them as wildly talented artists who boast writing and production credits on almost every song. On “Ungodly Hour”, Chloe x Halle serve up elegant harmonies and intricate melodies that arrest the senses with subtle, yet elaborate details. The album’s lead single “Do It” is a silky-sounding R&B track with soft vocals and a charismatic beat. Songs like “Forgive Me” offer plush falsettos while the Swae Lee-led “Catch Up” manages a dance-feel with its more textbook pop arrangement. Anthem seekers will relish the album-closing “ROYL” that adds vocal diversity to the sisters’ style and expression. For more info go to chloexhalle.com
