Awa Ly – Safe And Sound

French singer-songwriter Awa Ly has released her third studio album, “Safe And Sound”. The follow-up to “Five And A Feather” comes with twelve tracks, infusing soul and African sound into a unique style of R&B and folk music. Italy-based Awa Ly, who was born in France to Senegalese parents, describes “Safe And Sound” as a proclamation of the security she finds in discovering new things and expressing herself through music. The album discusses social injustice, femininity, and questions the intentions and will of man. The lead single, “Close Your Eyes”, allegorically comments on the inequity in society while “Mesmerizing” is an artful ode to the strength and beauty women possess. “Are You Satisfied?” questions the comfort of fake slumber while “Come Away With Me” is a wake-up call to embrace the power that comes from working together to effect change.
