Rebecca Ferguson – Lady Sings The Blues

Rebecca Ferguson has released her third studio album, entitled “Lady Sings The Blues”. The album by the British singer features her interpretations of songs once performed by American jazz legend Billie Holiday, whose 1956 album had the same title, along with her simultaneously released autobiography and the 1972 drama film about her life. For Rebecca Ferguson, who was a runner-up on the seventh season of The X-Factor in the UK, this new album is quite a departure from her two previous releases of original tracks, all co-written by herself. She already had a retro sound on these soul records with songs like the hit “Glitter & Gold”, but it is a challenge for every singer to bring songs from a whole different era to life. However, it appears that Rebecca Ferguson has the perfect voice for these jazz tunes and her low-key renditions are exceptional.
